BC Children’s Hospital offers these young sibling support groups at no cost to families. It is an online monthly peer group for 8-11 year old siblings who have a sibling with a chronic health condition and/or disability. No referral is needed and it is not diagnosis based.  

Registration for the 麻豆原创 Salmon Kings summer swim club for youth ages 5-18 is now open.  

CR Sea Wolves Football Club spring flag and conditioning registration is open for children and teens born from 2008-2021.

麻豆原创 Youth Soccer Association Spring Community Soccer registration is now open for children and teens born from 2022-2011.

Human Trafficking awareness session on February 25, 2026 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Learn how victims are recruited by traffickers, how to recognize the sings that someone is being trafficked, and understand a trauma informed approach to human trafficking.  

The Immigrant Welcome Centre are hosting free badminton at the 麻豆原创 Community Centre on February 27, 2026 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. This event is open to children, youth and families. Rackets and birdies provided. There will also be free skate and free swim events coming up in February and March. See the poster’s QR code to register. 
     

Discovery Passage Aquarium provides mobile and on-site marine education programs for kindergarten to grade 12 students. Programs include live animals, hands-on activities, and curriculum-aligned lessons that support science learning and environmental literacy. The Immigrant Welcome Centre is hosting an after-school adventure club every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the 麻豆原创 Secondary School library. The adventure club is open to all youth 12+ regardless of immigration status.  

Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island is hosting an Islands-wide art show for kids and teens 18 and under. Every piece of art submitted will be displayed in an online gallery and considered for their 2026 wall calendar. 12 pieces will be selected. Deadline for submissions is September 30, 2025. This is a fun chance for students to get creative, share their art with the community, and maybe even see their work in print. For details, see the submission form attached and visit

Information on the North Island Rent Bank from the Comox Valley Affordable Housing Society. The North Island Rent Bank is a service that provides financial assistance to qualifying community members who are struggling to pay their rent and are at risk of losing their housing.

Mind Your Plastic, a registered Canadian non-profit, offers a free program to all Canadian teachers to help teach students about a circular economy and the effects plastic pollution has on the environment.  

Healthy Minds BC has created an online learning resource for parents and caregivers called “Walking Alongside Youth with Depression” or WAY. It is designed to provide parents and others caring for a child or youth experiencing mild to moderate depression with practical and accessible information, tools and insights for use in daily life.
